I discovered Sammi Cheng quite by accident a couple of years ago when SBS screened Needing You (2000). I just managed to catch the end of this film and was lucky enough to see it from the start about 5 months later. Not usually the star of serious and meaningful films, Sammi Cheng does light and breezy with the best of them. The Magic Kitchen (2004) is a happy, upbeat and not-too-taxing tale of a woman who inherits an exclusive restaurant from her mother and discovers she has a talent for cooking and a secret admirer. With her friends (end ex-boyfriend) all caught up with their own relationship problems, Yau (Cheng) finds herself thinking more and more about her man-free life, only to be surprised by what she finds in her own kitchen! The Queen of light and silly escapism, Cheng is always an enjoyable watch.

TTT,
speaking of moths, if you ever watch a sporting contest at a major sporting arena in Melbourne, the reason why there are so many seagulls? Moths!! (attracted to the lights)
ps. yes my blog template does look nice - how lucky was that? Can't see myself adding to the site though. Music? why not - though I don't advise it in our section - we'd get eaten alive.
I always wondered about those seagulls ...
